INTRODUCING LAURA MILLER DESIGN

I am thrilled to announce the opening of Laura Miller Design, which has been fourteen years in the making. Back in 2006, I was a recent graduate of UC Davis with an eye on the building industry. Although I studied American History and Political Science, I also had a passion for design and knew that pursuing that passion would lead to a more fulfilling career. So, I enrolled in FIDM’s interior design program and headed to San Francisco. After graduating, I spent a few years as a bay-area interior designer and got a taste of the architectural side of the industry. I was hooked and knew I had to dive further in.

In 2009, I packed my bags for San Diego, where I earned my Master of Architecture degree from the NewSchool of Architecture and Design. During my time in San Diego, I worked for a construction and development firm where I gained invaluable experience in the high-end residential and new-construction sector. Life brought me to Los Angeles a few years later, where I focused primarily on single-family residential design and began studying for my architectural exams. After passing all eight exams, I became a licensed architect in 2015. Soon after, I took a Principal Architect position with a real estate development firm in Sacramento, where I oversaw a team of design professionals and dozens of major, multi-unit rehab projects throughout Northern California.

Along the way, I became a mom to three wonderful boys. I do my best to lead by example and show them the value of hard work, and I could not be prouder when my oldest tells me that he wants to be an architect when he grows up. I feel so fortunate to have a career I am passionate about, strengthened by unwavering family support.

Earlier this year, I founded Laura Miller Design, which is an architecture and interiors studio focused on what I know best: single and multi-family residential design. We are currently working on several exciting projects, from remodels to new construction. I look forward to sharing that work here. And, if you have any projects you would like to get started on, please reach out.
